I have not tried to use the Kindle Fire yet.  The Kindle, and Nook alone are great tools, but they each have limitations.  For me, so far, the iPad has been the best and easiest to use for visually impaired users without hacking or any other special changes to be done.

Please let me know what you end up doing or using.

He is an avid user of his laptop for emails and the internet. Now he also reads many audio books. I am evaluating buying him a tablet, and in specific the new Kindle Fire, which uses Android apps. However, I cannot find any reviews on its effectiveness for visually impaired.

Any ideas or recommendations?</description>
